Statues to Honor 9-11 Search and Rescue Dogs

As many as 300 statues of rescue dogs, decorated by artists all over the country, will be on display this summer in Manhattan
Many will be placed near firehouses and police stations, while others will be on Broadway and a few may be inside office buildings, explained AKC spokesperson David Frei. The exact number of statues on display will depend on how many corporate companies and private groups sponsor the statues. As of last week, more than 70 statues had been sold to sponsors for $10,000 each.
So far support has been pouring in.
