Title: Fear, Rage and Horrors

Installation against the war, for the viewer who is a victim of gruesome images shown endlessly by the mass media that document tragedies which unfortunately are part of our present.

What is the real cost of war is the question that I have often asked myseld.. and my answer in in this installation that I presented in Francavilla for the occasion of a group show organized by the Cultural Organizaion Lalipe (Laboratorio Libero Pensiero).

For this installation, large scale images of my photoetchings, works made in New York, after an extensive research in the New York Public Libraries, where I found pictures of long forgotten wars. These photoetchings have been manipulated digitally and now have a light and a different "charisma".

The installation was placed on the staircase leading to the tower using wires that spam from one side of the staircase to the other. On these wires, the images were attached, as if they were some kind of flags. There are also sentences tied to these wired which are an inspiration to me: sentences against war, poems and writings from people who were in some way involved in this past war in irak. All these flying sheets resemble the flying prayers you can see in nepalese stupas. Viewers are encouraged to think about the human cost of each war.
