"Waves..."
exhibition curated by Luigi Pagliarini
From February 13th until March 5th 2005, an exhibition of works will be on show at Caffè Galleria Ecoteca in via Caboto, Pescara, Italy. The opening reception is on February 13th at 21.00. At 22.00 a concert for violins will follow.
At her second solo show at Caffè Galleria Ecoteca, Colleen Corradi Brannigan, a really active Irish-Italian artist, shows a series of works based on the existential flux of our consciousness, represented by the musicality of violins, by luminous gases and by the same tsunami that recently devastated entire populations in south-east Asia. The young artist focuses on the waves seen as musicality, as brilliance, as shape, as harmony and mostly as the flowing of life.

"Tsunami" -
Oil and acrylics on canvas - measures: 250 x 150 cms
The adverse waves of destruction and the uncontrolled power of nature were the inspiring force that guided my reaction to the tragedy that occurred on December 26th 2004, which devastated unspoiled areas affecting entire populations. This work is not only a symbol for the Inevitable, but wants to represent
all those situations of helplessness that the human being is irrevocably at the mercy of.
