ArteMista presents:

NUOVA LUCE ANTICA

The old walls of the Temples revive after a long rest made of real and tiring dreams.
Three days of exhibitions, music, performances and video installations. In order to evaluate these premises which have been for a long time used too little, arteMista thinks it is time to give back its citizenship to the Roman Temples.

The idea is that Chieti has invaluable resources to create social and cultural meeting points, and the area of the Roman Temples is ideal for this, as it is the ideal center of the city of Chieti.
It is time that a new light shines on the Temples to give back its splendour to the people of Chieti.

INSTALLATION: ROOTS by Colleen Corradi Brannigan

<<The idea of the roots - the artist tells us - comes from the recent discovery of two Roman temples that had been hidden for years under the street level, and of the recovery of the history and of our Roman Roots... and my installation, made of twigs and branches of trees tied together with copper wire, will cover part of the facade of one of the temples, as if the roots tried to come out of the temple itself and at the same time they seem to suffocate it, just like the asphalt did for years>>.

One of the most interesting elements of this installation is represented by the liquid bronze that will enhance the idea of suffocation and will even more give us the idea of the concrete which has covered this structure for years, but which has come out to its outstanding beauty once again... just like roots do.

These roots will be outside and inside the temples to give the idea that they are growing within the walls and becoming a whole with it. These roots are not fed by water but they keep growing and are developing within a space that take us back to ancient times.
